Due to the breadth of this field, many nuanced details regarding classification of disease, intra-operative consultation, newly described tests and staging of gynecologic cancer remain unknown to many surgical pathologists. Most practicing surgical pathologists see ample amounts of gynecologic surgical pathology on a routine basis including biopsy material, specimens for intra-operative consultation and cancer resections which require laboratory work-up and assessment of important staging pathologic variables. Such complexity makes it essential that some of the intricacies of this field be discussed. The aim of this course will be to discuss some of the more difficult specimens encountered within this discipline, as well as new clinical tests that have become available. In addition, portions of the course will address chronically difficult staging issues that are commonly encountered.

Target Audience

Practicing academic and community pathologists, and pathologists-in-training

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:

List and describe common problems encountered in diagnosing, grading and staging endometrial adenocarcinoma

List and describe common problems encountered in diagnosing and grading cervical carcinoma

Describe histologic and molecular features of uterine mesenchymal tumors

Describe the approach to diagnosis in abnormal products of conception specimens

Topics :

Uterine Smooth Muscle Tumors

Endometrial Low-Grade Carcinoma and Mimic

Endometrial High-Grade Carcinoma and Mimics

Endocervical Neoplasia

Uterine Mesenchymal Tumors Other Than Smooth Muscle

Endometrial Carcinoma Staging Issues

Cervical Cancer Staging Issues

Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases

Panel Discussion – Endometrial Cancer Typing

Panel Discussion – Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Typing and Staging

Panel Discussion – Staging Issues in Endometrial Carcinoma

Panel Discussion – Abnormal Products of Conception and Mesenchymal Tumors

Original release date: April 29, 2020

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0662/9549/6802/files/USCAP-Interactive-Uterine-Pathology-_-New-Entities-Tools-Reporting-768x200_dede6a80-7f2c-4722-bfc8-ee9a25e5972c.webp?v=1779381803
https://meducourse.com/products/uscap-interactive-uterine-pathology-new-entities-tools-amp-reporting-recommendations-2020-cme-videos
