    Overview

Radiologic imaging plays a critical role in the care of all oncology patients, yet a knowledge gap in radiologic interpretation exists among Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This one-day virtual program offers a comprehensive overview of radiologic interpretation, specifically designed for the oncology population. Topics include imaging of the breast, pelvis, chest, abdomen, brain, spine, extremities, and whole body. Key imaging modalities such as X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear imaging will be covered.

The program also addresses unique radiologic considerations for pediatric and transgender populations, as well as innovative applications of imaging in interventional oncology. To enhance learning and engagement, interdisciplinary case studies will be integrated throughout, utilizing interactive tools to reinforce key concepts. Additionally, attendees will gain access to an online syllabus after the course concludes, which will include recorded videos of the faculty presentations.

This course is designed for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, radiologist assistants, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and physicians. We're pleased to offer complimentary registration to health professional students and registrants who reside in low and lower-middle income countries (see additional information below).

    Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to:
    1. Gain knowledge of the principles and interpretation of common imaging modalities and translate the knowledge learned to clinical practice
    2. Identify the clinical indications for and selection criteria of various imaging modalities
    3. Recognize common abnormalities on various radiology examinations
    4. Address challenges and limitations of various imaging modalities
    5. Identify important considerations when interpreting radiologic imaging in special populations
    6. Discuss the differential diagnosis for common radiographic findings
    7. Explain the role of imaging in cancer screening, staging, and surveillance
    8. Describe the use of real time radiologic imaging and interpretation in interventional oncology
