    Carotid/Cerebrovascular Case Studies Online Course has been designed to provide a large variety of cases in order to improve competence in the diagnosis/interpretation of carotid/cerebrovascular ultrasound pathologies. Recorded during a live Vascular Case Review program, our expert faculty presents 38 cases in a “double-read” format. The patient history/physical examination is provided along with the corresponding ultrasound case documentation.

    OBJECTIVES

    • Demonstrate the participants’ knowledge and competence to interpret cerebrovascular ultrasound examinations.
    • State routine scan protocols and analyze normal duplex/color ultrasound characteristics seen in a normal carotid and TCD vascular examinations.
    • Recognize normal/abnormal spectral/color Doppler findings seen with carotid and transcranial Doppler disease.
    • Apply diagnostic criteria for evaluation of cerebrovascular disease.
    • Interpret routine and complex cerebrovascular Doppler case studies in an interactive “double-read” format.
    • Apply diagnostic criteria for interpretation of cerebrovascular examinations.
    • Cite the key elements to include in a structured final report.

    AUDIENCE

    Physicians, nurse practitioners, PA’s, sonographers or other medical professional involved with performing and/or interpreting cerebrovascular ultrasound examinations and/or preparing to take their RPVI certification examination. Physician participants may include (but is not limited to): radiology, internal medicine, primary care, vascular surgery, general surgery, neurology, and cardiology.
