    Rheumatology Update for the Clinician is designed to provide rheumatologists and primary care physicians with up-to-date information on how to recognize, diagnose, treat and follow common rheumatologic conditions. Distinguished faculty will give didactic lectures on disease-specific topics including: the diagnosis and treatment of RA, PSA, gout, lupus and Osteoporosis. The role of imaging of these disorders with radiological techniques will be reviewed. An in-depth exploration of autoimmunity will be presented. The educational format includes case studies and panel discussions, allowing participants the opportunity to attain and integrate new, practical information into their clinical practices to improve patient care and outcomes. Alternative pain modalities will also be discussed.

    Objectives

    By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
    1. Analyze new and novel treatment in rheumatic disorders.
    2. Discuss current guidelines in treating rheumatic disorders.
    3. Differentiate on a clinical basis from over 150 types of arthritis.
    4. Distinguish the pathophysiology of RA, SLE, gout, psoriatic arthritis and AS.
    5. Explore differences in biologic agents used in the field of rheumatology.
    6. Debate the use of THC in treating RA and rheumatic disorders.
    7. Review new developments in the field of rheumatology.
